Most of the time I work as an entrepreneur solo on projects. But sometimes I get to work as a small entrepreneur with others as part of a team. I get to have ‘colleagues’ for a while. For me this was the case with the project ‘Veerkrachtfabriek’, meaning resilience factory. Working in a team can be a blessing or a curse. With Veerkracht team it was a blessing.
I got to work in a multidisciplinary team, with each member having its own knowledge field. The team consisted of 10 people. Our goal was to make a website where the (creative) talents of people with psychiatric vulnerability could be shown. I held a lot of meetings to discuss and monitor the process. And at the end I had a website.
From the beginning the ethos was good and everybody accepted each others knowledge. And was enthusiastic about our common goal. Working in this team was a party and easy. It can be different, trust me I know from experience. Everybody did what they had to do and on time. So the project had wings and could be finished on time. I had a blast working as a team and love to do this in the future again. With the same team members or other team.
I don’t do peersupport projects anymore. After Reality Keeper, I reach my goal with these projects and I make room for the next generation to do peersupport projects.
