When I started working and I started entrepreneurship the talks were about networking and marketing. Networking meant then going to as much events as possible and talk to as many people as possible. Is this profitable? Too me it seems like not. When I go to these events, I mostly greet about 10 people and speak to mostly 3 people about what they do and what I do. It seems in the beginning useless, because they are not looking for my products or don’t have the money for my products. The odd thing is they still remember me after a few years and because I still excist some are willing to invest in buying the third or fourth product I renewed.
Yes, long term marketing, marketing that stays with me if I am dedicated to it and willing to renew myself every time, again and again. Not going for the things everybody goes for, but smalling my business into the niche that is mine, and mine only for a few years till lagging kicks inn or I get frustrated in doing the same thing over, and, over again.
The business card I give away is worth more than I imagined at the moment or less sometimes. So the person I didn’t want to talk to can be the client I want, but also the hell I have to kick out as a client forever.
