Referrals to the Program

Who could benefit from Stephen Ministry?

For more information about making a referral to Stephen Ministry, call the Stephen Ministry Coordinator, Ginnie Sherer, or Pastor Jack Seville by calling 920-231-7520.

Bear one another's burdens, and in this way fulfill the law of Christ.  -- Galatians 6:2

A care receiver is referred through a formal referral form.  If making a referral for someone, please make sure to talk to the potential care receiver to ensure they are interested in working with a Stephen Minister.  If the care receiver is receiving other services (such as through a counseling agency or home health agency) it might be necessary for one of the Pastors or one of the leaders to speak to other care providers to explain the Stephen Minister's role in providing care.

Once the referral form is completed, it is given to the FCC Stephen Ministry Coordinator.  The Coordinator will review the referral with the Stephen Leader Team.  One of the Stephen Leaders will call the care receiver and meet with the person to discuss the program and what it involves.  If the care receiver agrees to receive care, the Stephen Leader Team will discuss the situation and match the care receiver with a trained Stephen Minister.

Care receivers are persons in the FCC community who are experiencing stress in life and the person could benefit from a caring, one-on-one relationship with a Stephen Minister.  Life stresses can include:

The Stephen Minister's role with care receivers is to listen, support and pray with and for the care receiver as Jesus might have done.  Stephen Ministers do not provide any hands on care and do not provide counseling to care receivers.
