Dancing with the music: Vals and Milonga (4-week Series)
Dates: Tuesdays June 2, 9, 16, 23
Time: 7-8PM
Drop in rate $25/Class

This series focuses on the two most playful and musical rhythms of Argentine tango: Vals and Milonga. We will work on timing, musical phrasing, flow, rhythm, and connection, helping dancers move beyond patterns and start truly dancing with the music. In Vals, we will explore circular movement, continuity, and the feeling of suspension and elegance created by the 3/4 rhythm. In Milonga, we will develop rhythmic clarity, grounded movement, syncopation, and the relaxed, joyful energy that makes milonga so unique. The classes will include:
Musical interpretation and rhythm awareness
Practical tools for dancing musically with any partner
Connection and communication inside the embrace
Suitable for dancers with basic tango experience who want to become more musical, more comfortable, and more expressive in social dancing.

Essential Figures (4-week Series)
Dates: Thursdays June 4, 11, 18, 25
Time: 7-8PM
Drop in rate $25/Class
Register here and save 20%
This four-week Special Topics series is dedicated to mastering the essential figures of tango—the movements that truly support confident, musical social dancing.
Rather than rushing through multiple patterns, we’ll focus on one essential figure each week. The goal is depth, not quantity. By spending a full class refining a single figure, you’ll develop the clarity, balance, and adaptability needed to actually use it comfortably in a milonga—not just in class.
Each week’s figure will be chosen specifically for its usefulness on the social floor. We’ll explore how it:
Functions in close embrace
Adapts to different musical styles
Works in tight spaces
Connects smoothly to walking and improvisation
This series is ideal for dancers who want to grown and strengthen their fundamentals and feel more prepared when the music starts. By the end of the four weeks, you’ll walk into a milonga with a small but reliable toolkit you can truly trust.
