2. Title: VTS Foundation Series Changing the Embrace
- Dates/Time: August 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th, September 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd from 7:00 - 8:00 PM
- Location: 303C Mill St NE, Vienna, VA 22180
- Description: This series focuses on developing flexibility in the embrace, how to move comfortably between open and closed connection while staying grounded, connected, and musical. We’ll explore how the embrace can adjust depending on the movement, the music, the space, and the needs of the partnership, so dancers can create a tango that feels both clear and adaptable. Rather than treating open and closed embrace as separate styles, this course will help dancers understand how to transition between them naturally and intentionally. We’ll work on maintaining communication through the body, preserving balance and comfort, and recognizing when a change in the embrace can make the dance feel more fluid, expressive, and connected. This series is designed to help dancers build a more responsive and versatile social dance—one that can breathe, adapt, and still feel beautifully unified. Enrollment includes access to one complete Tango Foundations series with Vienna Tango School instructors. This is a structured course designed to build your skills week by week. Students commit to the full series; this is not a flexible “class pass.” Registration required.

3. Title: VTS Special Topics
- Dates/Time: August 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th from 8:00 - 9:00 PM
- Location: 303C Mill St. NE, Vienna, VA 22180
- Description: This four-week Special Topics series is dedicated to mastering the essential figures of tango—the movements that truly support confident, musical social dancing. Rather than rushing through multiple patterns, we’ll focus on one essential figure each week. The goal is depth, not quantity. By spending a full class refining a single figure, you’ll develop the clarity, balance, and adaptability needed to actually use it comfortably in a milonga—not just in class. Each week’s figure will be chosen specifically for its usefulness on the social floor. We’ll explore how it functions in close embrace, adapts to different musical styles, works in tight spaces, and connects smoothly to walking and improvisation. This series is ideal for dancers who want to grow and strengthen their fundamentals and feel more prepared when the music starts. By the end of the four weeks, you’ll walk into a milonga with a small but reliable toolkit you can truly trust. Registration required.
