Kayak Newport Harbor to Corona Del Mar and Arch Rock

This web page along with the video will show you this Newport Beach California kayak adventure.   I have created this page to go with my video of this kayak trip.

I suggest you also read my page NEWPORT HARBOR / CORONA DEL MAR / CRYSTAL COVE which has a lot more information with maps, tides and weather links for this paddle.

Here is my kayaking video that takes you along on the paddle from Newport Harbor to Corona Del Mar and Arch Rocks. We even paddle through the second Arch Rock.  The trip takes place in Newport Beach California in Orange County.

Further down on the page I have a video transcript with links to the specific area of the trip.

In this video, I paddle with my dog Tofu and take you on a kayak adventure from Newport Harbor to Corona Del Mar and Arch Rocks. We paddle through the second arch rock. Along the way we see sea lions, garibaldi fish, and beautiful scenery.

This is an excellent kayak trip or SUP (standup paddle board) trip. There is beautiful scenery along the way.

Some of the video and pictures were taken on different days. Some shots were in late November, some in January, and some in February.

Most of the Video is from February on a super calm day. The video with the waves breaking through the arch was taken on a day with more surf and a lower tide.

Caution: you can only paddle through the second Arch Rock when the surf is small and the tide is medium high to high. Tofu and I paddle through the arch at about the minimum tide were you can go through - this is because there was almost no surf on this day.

This is the transcript of the video - I have placed links to jump to the specified place in the video:

The links are placed by places of special interest.  (I now have a few map links and may add more links later)

In the video we are launching from the Balboa Peninsula side of bay by Channel Road and paddling to first Arch Rock and then paddling through the second Arch Rock.
