Stand up paddle boarding with your dog can be a fun and healthy experience for people and their dogs. Depending on your dog's (and your) personality and abilities, you both can master the skills needed. Dogs often don't need much training - our dog Tofu taught herself how to get on the SUP without getting her feet wet. If your dog or you aren't strong swimmers, be sure to wear life jackets.

How to SUP with your PUP: Some dogs love the water and love to be in the water, and some dogs don't. You need to keep your dog's preferences and abilities in mind when you take them on a SUP with you. Our dog Tofu doesn't like to get wet that much, but she is an excellent swimmer. She wants to come along so she hops up on the SUP (sometimes when it's quite far from the water) and is ready to go. Adjust your approach according to your dogs natural talents preferences and abilities - the best dog tricks are the ones the dog teaches themselves.
