By: Confessions of a New Old Home Owner

Ingredients:

1/4 cup yogurt based butter

3 large onions, chopped as desired

1 tsp white sugar

1 tbsp flour

2 1/2 cups water

1 cup red wine

2 cans of beef broth (10.5 oz each)

1 french baguette

Sliced swiss cheese

Directions:

1. In a large stock pot, melt butter, add onions and sugar over medium heat and cook until golden brown about 10 minutes.

2. Stir in flour until well blended and next add the red wine. Stir for 1 minute. Add in the water and beef broth and heat to boiling. Reduce heat to low and cover for 10 minutes.

3. Preheat your oven to 325* and lightly toast your bread slices for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and preheat to 425*. Once soup is finished ladle into bake safe bowls and place on a baking sheet. Top with 1-2 slices of bread and place the swiss cheese on top.

4. Place baking sheet in the oven and bake for 10 minutes until cheese is melted. Remove from oven and place each bowl on a plate for easier handling and serve hot!
