현대음악앙상블 '소리'에 오신 것을 환영합니다!

Welcome to Contemporary Music Ensemble SORI!

2001년 11월 12일 故박창원 음악감독을 중심으로 첫 연주회를 개최하며 그 첫 발을 내딛은 현대음악앙상블 ‘소리’는 한국 최초의 현대음악 전문 연주단체로서 매년 정기연주회와 기획음악회 등 여러 음악회를 통해 다양하고 새로운 현대음악 레퍼토리를 선보이며 한국의 클래식 음악계에서 신선한 바람을 일으키고 있다.

창단부터 지금까지 나인용, 박인호, Markus Hechtle 등 국내외의 여러 작곡가에게 새로운 작품을 위촉하고 세계 초연하고 있으며, Olivier Messiaen, Bruno Maderna, Luigi Nono, Iannis Xenakis, Pierre Boulez, Earle Brown, György Kurtág, Steve Reich, Hans Zender, Michael Nyman, Gérard Grisey, Tristan Murail, Salvatore Sciarrino, Wolfgang Rihm, Beat Furrer 등 현대음악의 중요한 작곡가의 작품을 아시아 혹은 한국 초연하고 있다.

또한 스페인 XXIV Cicle d’Hivern 현대음악제, Felip Pedrell 음악제, Composers Group of Tarragona 초청음악회, Teatro Metropol 초청음악회, Eglise St. Merri Paris, Festival de Gex 등 유럽의 여러 음악제를 비롯하여 ACL-Korea 국제음악제, ACL 한일 교류 연주회, 아시아 현대음악제, 범음악제, 대한민국 실내악 작곡제전, 아츠 페스티벌 디멘션, 음악과영상창작입단 나우 등 국내외의 여러 현대음악제에 초청받는 등 세계적인 현대음악 앙상블로서 활동영역을 넓혀가고 있다.

현재 현대음악앙상블 ‘소리’는 첼리스트 이숙정(현 대표)을 비롯한 국내 최고 수준의 젊은 연주자들이 상임 단원으로 활동하고 있다. 우리 시대에 탄생된 작품에 대한 뜨거운 열정과 강한 사명감으로 끊임없이 노력하고 있는 현대음악앙상블 ‘소리’는 작곡가의 의도를 훌륭히 표현하는 연주라는 찬사를 받고 있으며, 우리 시대를 대표하는 앙상블로 자리매김했다.

Contemporary Music Ensemble SORI Founded in 2001 in Seoul, South Korea. The ensemble ‘SORI’ is the first professional concert musical group in South Korea specialized in contemporary music. The foundation of ‘SORI’ was initiated by a group of young performers who participated in the ‘2001 Music Today-Seoul International Competition for Composers.’ The young performers are highly acclaimed for their musical abilities as not only soloists but also ensemble players. The dictionary meaning for ‘SORI’ is simply ‘sound’ in English, ‘Klang’ in German and ‘timbre’ in French. The musical orientation of the ‘SORI’ centers on inventiveness and variety since its primary repertoires are newly composed scores submitted by international composers. The ensemble also commissions new music as the continuing effort to enlarge the opportunities for young composers. Besides periodic concerts, through the special concerts, ‘SORI’ prepares the contemporary products combined by the various art performance and multimedia.
