We are focusing on 2 aspects of the Spanish preterit at the moment: the regular conjugations & the spelling change i > y.

II. Your written homework is to complete exercise 1.5 on page 11. You will find it on the back of the crossword puzzle. Break the exercise into 2 steps: 1) select the correct verb for the sentence & circle it; 2) conjugate it in the preterit.

Here are the verbs & their meanings:

• creer = to believe
• destruir = to destroy
• leer = to read
• caerse = to fall down
• oír = to hear
