About Me

Physical Education Teacher & Department Chair, Adapted Physical Education Specialist

I has a BS degree in Physical Education and teaching credential from Cal Poly, Pomona University, a Masters in Education from University of Phoenix, and Adapted Physical Education Credential from Azusa Pacific University.

I started playing organized sports at the age of seven with soccer but my love for sports and outdoors has always been a part of my family. My interests include surfing and body boarding, camping, kayaking, hiking, and playing guitar. I spend a lot of time with my family and at the beach. I played soccer, volleyball, and softball throughout high school and continued with soccer in college.

Right out of high school I joined Cal Fire and traveled the United States fight fires. I then decided to bo to college and I have been teaching since 1996 and coaching since 1987.

I came to Clairemont in 2005 and started coaching Softball, soccer, and badminton. In the years to follow I was asked to be the Assistant Volleyball Coach and became the Varsity Softball coach in 2010.

I truly enjoy being active. It is my goal to help my students learn why it is important to maintain healthy fitness levels and to find an activity that they enjoy and continue to stay active as they get older.
