グルタールイミド(glutarimide)系抗生物質の一つであり、真核生物のタンパク質合成を阻害する。
リボトキシックストレス応答を誘導し、ERK、JNK、p38 MAPキナーゼの活性化を誘導する。
ヒト白血病Jurkat細胞において、強力にアポトーシスを誘導する。
ヒト肺がん腫A549細胞において、TNFレセプター1のエクトドメインシェディングを誘導する。
