Collaborative-enabled Activities to Realize Benefits:

  • Create a vendor-focused sub-community that adapts tools such as the CDS/QI Worksheets and discussion forum to enable client sites to share target-focused CDS configurations and implementation strategies in terms more specific to the vendors’ offerings. Infrastructure for this sub-community could leverage the broader Collaborative’s website and discussion group (e.g., creating ‘closed’ versions of each exclusively for the vendor and their clients) and/or the vendor’s own collaboration and sharing infrastructure.
  • Work with Collaborative staff and vendor clients to foster development of a vendor-specific version of the broader CDS/QI Worksheets. Work with sites that are effectively using the vendor’s CDS-related capabilities to document their CDS configurations and strategies in the worksheets.
  • Widely disseminate this information among client base in various vendor-specific forums (e.g., one-on-one and group client meetings), as well as national educational/promotional venues.
  • Use online, teleconference and face-to-face meetings among clients and vendor professional services and product management teams to glean and prioritize insights about enhancements to solution capabilities most widely and urgently needed to broadly accelerate clients’ PI/CDS success.
  • Work with other Collaborative provider, EHR vendor and other participants to identify shared impediments to accelerating CDS/PI activities (e.g., lack of needed CDS-related interoperability standards) and develop strategies (e.g., speaking with a common voice to standard development organizations) about approaches to addressing them.
