This tutorial will help you understand and use a template for documenting, improving and sharing your clinical decision support/quality improvement strategy for specific care improvement imperatives. The full name for this template is the "target-focused CDS/QI strategy template," or CDS/QI template (or just template) for short.
The template and this tutorial are part of the ONC CDS4MU Care Delivery Improvement CDS Toolkit. Before using the tutorial and template, consider scanning the Toolkit - especially the CDS/QI Overview Presentation [Link] for important information about successful CDS/QI efforts.
This tutorial consists of the 4 sections below; the first 3 contain background material to help you understand how theI template can support your CDS/QI efforts, and the 4th gives detailed instructions and an example for filling it in. If you are new CDS-enabled quality improvement, you can work through this tutorial from beginning to end, after reviewing the Toolkit. Those more familiar with the background information can scan or skip the preliminary information in sections 1 and 2.
