We all gathered at the Birdsville Caravan Park, however, there were a few dramas along the way. Too Continue reading please find attached link Hay River and Madigan Line
Welcome members to the trip report for the Teddy Bears Picnic.
Our trip leader was Shayne, aka Bear was ably assisted by Navigator & Radio operator, Chloe.
On my arrival on a glorious sunny Saturday morning, to the lineup of 4WDs parked at the St Paul's Catholic Church Albion Park, at 8.32am, I was kindly notified by Macca that as I was the last to arrive, I was going to be doing the trip report. We headed off from Sally's Corner at 8.30am drizzling with rain and a cool start to the day. We had a brief comfort stop at Gundagai at 11.00am then back on the road headed towards Wagga Wagga and we still had light rain and cool conditions.
Lunch at Wagga Wagga Beach (Number 9 in the top Beaches of Australia) We enjoyed lunch in a covered BBQ shelter on the banks of the Mighty Murrumbidgee River. After the rain the river had a strong flow and plenty of water. The rain held off for us to enjoy the area.

With a bit of a later start, we headed from Orange down the road that Google said was correct (don't believe it). After a scenic country drive, we stopped for morning tea at Wellington. Sadly Marshall decided that he needed to head for home and we continued on. Lunch saw us stop at Gilgandra and enjoy a break and a walk around the park. Back on the road, we did some silo spotting. Camp for the night was in Walgett at Muddy Waters, a perfect spot by the river to enjoy happy hour and watch the water go by.
