On August 9 we joined forces with GRORC and the Scouts for first aid training so that future club trips will be a bit safer with about half a dozen members now certified in CPR, basic emergency life support and providing & applying first aid. Once the paperwork was sorted things got underway quickly and Donna Price from Allen’s Training guided us through the material and the practical sessions which included CPR on infants & adults as well as tying each other up in knots with triangular bandages. An early start to the day, which started out fine and dry but just outside Robertson the drizzle, began and continued through to our meeting spot at Sally’s Corner. We picked up John, Wendy and Matt Blair from the Shoalhaven 4wd Club as well as our other club members where after a quick trip brief and Trev & Halina taking on tail end Charlie duties we continued on to Goulburn, the drizzle and rain now more intense. In Goulburn, we picked up another vehicle from the Illawarra Suzuki club with James and Darren on board. Travelling through to Taralga was a pleasant change with the paddocks now nice and green compared to the brown parched landscape a few months earlier. On time and like clockwork we picked up Ian and Shari, Steve, Ang and the kids who were sprung leaving a coffee shop in the main street of Taralga, apparently according to Macca they had sold out of coffee so he couldn’t shout the whole club. Unfortunately, they also forgot to bring the clearing skies so the rain continued to travel with us. Too continue reading please find attached link Abercrombie River National
