On our Way: We had planned to leave on our trip Wednesday morning, but we needed a repair to our long-range fuel tank and it was lunchtime before the tank was ready. Therefore we could not get as far as usual on our first day. We ended up near Gundagai and headed for a free camping spot we knew from our canoeing days. Have you ever stopped to consider the intricacies of constructing a post and rail fence? I certainly hadn’t before this trip. I just sort of imagined that you dug a bit of a hole in the ground, dropped a log into it to act as an upright [hopefully remembering to hack a couple of appropriate holes in it] and then stick a couple of other longer poles through the holes. Repeat and voila-you have a functional, good looking post and rail fence. Ha. Let us just say that it was a tiny little bit more technical than my original concept. So we met up at the Dunmore rest area at around 7 am. We travelled from there and regrouped at the Bunning's car park in Batemans Bay. From there, our turnoff was not that far away. We arrived at the camp, said our hellos to the guys that arrived on Friday or in Pete’s case on Thursday and then found somewhere to set up camp. We had some lunch and then went for a drive. I’m thinking it was called the convict trail. We came back and had happy hour. Followed by dinner and more chatting around the fire. Too continue reading please find attached link River Valley
The club’s annual 4play Funkana weekend had come around once again and as the fierce competitors made their way to the meeting point, I realized that I had forgotten the towels for the weekend, so had to make a quick turnaround to retrieve them. After the quick turnaround, Tiano and I were back on our way hoping we wouldn’t be the last to arrive......, But also here I am writing to you about the weekend!!

On Saturday 27th August eight cars (four cars had driven up on Friday) met bright and early at the corner of Old Hume Highway And Wombeyan Caves Road. We were all early so that we would not have to write the trip report! But that was not to be with Pete's new system! Now it's the person who pulls the short straw [or in Pete's case- knife] that writes the report! Too continue reading please find attached link Joadja
10 Black Diamond vehicles joined 4 Illawarra Suzuki vehicles at Wollongong Green House Energy Park to partake in the National tree planting day. After signing on and having our safety brief it was a short stroll to the denuded hill needing to be planted out. We were also joined by members of the general public who were willing to get down and get dirty with us. After meeting on the Picton Road at 8am we made our way to Eastern Creek. Unfortunately, we left Greg and Marge behind on the Picton Road as Marge had to stop at the rest area with the toilet and we were all at the next rest area and Lee drove off without them. (ooops)
Gazebo city was set up and then we got down to business on the morning tea. Heaps and heaps of beautiful homemade cakes, scones, banana bread etc and copious amounts of hot tea and coffee was on hand. While the rain was holding off several people took the opportunity to drive the test track. Apparently Lenore had the most fun of all. Kids were playing in the sand pit and creating their own 4wd track. (I wonder where they learn this stuff from).

South Coast 4wd Centre has held its annual open day again this year at the new/old showroom and workshop on Montague Street. Lee and I arrived at about 8:00 a.m. after forgetting half the stuff and having to make several phone calls to Nathan to get the missing items. (Thanks Nath).
