Our famous Baked Mostaccioli Recipe ("Baked Ziti" for our east coast people) is raved about across the globe! Tradition dictates that this is the recipe to be used for our annual Pasta and Pops event. It's always a big hit...and no one ever leaves hungry!
3 pounds Ziti or Penne Noodles
1 - 15 ounce cans Diced Tomatoes
1 - 28 ounce can Tomato Puree
2 - 26 ounce jars Meatless Spaghetti Sauce
1 - 5 ounce package Shredded Parmesan Cheese
2 - 16 ounce packages Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
1 - 8 ounce package Provolone Cheese shredded or block cut into small cubes
3 Tablespoons Dried Basil
1 1/2 Tablespoons Granulated Garlic
1 Tablespoon Dried Oregano
1 aluminum pan 12x20x4 (standard size chaffing pan)
Cook pasta to al dente. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. When pasta is done, drain well, place in chaffing pan and add tomato products. Mix well then add cheese and spices. Mix well again. Bake covered in the oven for 45 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
