Welcome to May BHS Bands Members and Families - as the school year nears its end, we've got a couple of events that we wanted to highlight. First off, as I expect everyone is aware, we have the concert tomorrow, May 5th. We hope to see you all there to support and celebrate our bands' performances and recognize our graduating seniors.
Next up, we've got a Parents Meeting scheduled for next Tuesday, May 10th at 7:00 pm in the BHS Band room. While, as mentioned, the year is winding down, there are a number of very important topics to run through including: Schedule for the rest of the school year, Summer Activities and Scheduled (July 4th, Band-O-Rama, Band Camp), Fundraising (survey - see below, coming events - see below), Spiritwear, Band Parents Organization Board - see below, and more! You won't want to miss it.
A couple of additional notes at this time.
- As suggested above, we're conducting a Fundraising Survey. Fundraising goes towards various band needs and events and for student travel (e.g. Disney trip) - we want your feedback to make sure fundraising best addresses the needs and interests of our organization. The Survey can be found at the link below:
- Restaurant Night - Wednesday May 18th at the Village Tavern & Grill in Carol Stream. The Band can earn up to 20% of proceeds from the evening, so mark your calendars and come on out to support our local restaurants and the Band!
- At the next meeting we will be confirming our Board for the 2016-17 year. We presently have 4 official positions (as required by our membership in the Bartlett High School Boosters) -- President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Several current officers expect to continue to serve in some capacity but anyone interested in taking on a leadership role in our group, please respond to this message or plan on attending the parents meeting to discuss further.
