Fundraising Update
Trivia Night - We postponed our Trivia Night fundraiser until next school year. We’ve got a great foundation at this point, but we didn’t have the traction in terms of registered teams. Mr. Hollaway has had great success with this type of event at his prior school, but we had winter weather, a short timeline, and a number of other factors working against us, so we’ll look forward to launching this in the fall.
Craft Fair - The Fine Arts Boosters has historically held an annual craft fair. However, they were unable to hold the event this year. So, they are looking to partner with the Band Boosters to get the event going again. In the past the event had been a pretty good success and it looks to be a good opportunity. It is presently scheduled for October 29, 2016. For the event, we will need a handful of people to work with the Fine Arts team in terms of planning and logistics. Anyone interested in helping in this capacity, please let me know at BHSBands1@gmail.com and we will connect you with the Fine Arts team to get started. On the day of the event, we will need a variety of student and parent volunteers to assist (we’ll follow up on this in the fall).
Survey - After spring break, watch for a survey / communication regarding future fundraising activities. We’ll want to get a handle on a variety of issues in this regard and will be looking for broad input.
BHS Boosters Update
The BHS Boosters will be hosting a BINGO night at the Fire Barn on Saturday, March 5th. Additional details are included in the flyer attached. Anyone interested in helping out can sign up at www.signupgenius.com/go/20f054aaeac28a6ff2-march. Also, students who are at least 18 years old can sign up to assist and receive in-school service hours. More details about the event will be available in the coming days.
10% of our fundraising typically goes to the general BHS Boosters fund. The Boosters funds are used for various BHS initiatives (athletics or fine arts related, or general school purposes). At the most recent meeting, for example, general funds were approved to purchase a portable sound mixing board for Dave Goldman (Stage Tech) which will benefit a variety of arts and other programs.
