A Quick Overview of the Parent/Caregiver Training
The Parent/Caregiver Training consists of multiple training sessions in which the parent is coached to apply the techniques and skills learned during the Autism Workshop with his or her child. The first session is a “baseline session.” In the baseline session the parent’s current training skills are evaluated and an intervention plan is developed to help the parent treat their child’s symptoms. The Judevine® Master Trainer supervises and coaches each training session. All training sessions are videotaped (the parent gets a copy of each videotape, which may be used to share the method with teachers and other persons who have regular contact with the child). Following the Parent/ Caregiver Training (usually the next full week), a summary staffing will be held with the Judevine® Master Trainer, the parents, and anyone else the parents wish to invite (for example: teachers, teaching assistants, grandparents, etc.). The purpose of the summary staffing is to go over the progress the child has made in the training and to discuss the continuing goals the parent has for the child. We also provide follow-up services for as long is necessary to insure the family and teachers are applying the techniques effectively at home and school.
