Theories on the Origin of Thomas Felps/Felps d 1758/59 Baltimore CO, Md.

(all research known to be by Mr. Ed Phelps was removed due to potential copyright infringement) Ireland as an origin is being revisited due to a new Phelps kit B6124 having in his lineage a civil war Tennessee survey record naming Ireland as the patriarch's origin. If true it is the second document (revised 2014) reported to this project which describes a country of origin for any of the ydna-related Phelps lines. See the Civil War record of another Phelps naming Ireland as his grandfather's origin

Did Thomas Phelps of Limerick Ireland Go to Pennsylvania? By Brenda Emery

"After a careful study of all materials available to me at this time I believe that Thomas Phelps, Quaker [of Limerick Ireland], born 1623 did not come to America. It appears however that his son Thomas likely traveled to Pennsylvania, claimed the land his father had purchased from William Penn, married, and died sometime before 1704." [Records show only a daughter who died early]

Additional information 2/2016- provided by Thomas H. Phelps, Ed Phelps and Kathy Hammons and others (supplied by Thomas H Phelps)

Here is the lineage for Thomas Phelps of Limerick Ireland b.1623 d.1699 [see the lineage on page 24 here] THIS LINK IS CURRENTLY INVALID Note that he has two sons named ‘Thomas’ – I don’t know what the abbreviations by the names indicate. I would presume indication of death, perhaps prematurely?

Record of Thomas Phelps to Limerick, Quaker convert:

Unfortunately, references are not given for the information as it is sequestered via invitation and the data is self-reported by families. Never the less, I think there is some value in the information. (Kathy Hammons)
