News 10/2016 Using SNP testing, a new Phelps patriarch is associated with this line: William Phelps d. 1811 lived in Buckingham Co, VA
YDNA testing has confirmed that this line had a common ancestor with the other 4 or 5 other E M44 Phelps lines in this section. The haplogroup of all the members of this line canlegitimately be assumed to be E1a1 (M44) because of the deep clade testing of some members. FTDNA in 2011 expressed their belief that all members are of the same subclade M44 E1a1. Since then Big Y and SNP testing has gone far beyond that, down to the present tme for some members.
