Directions

By air: To get from the Logan Airport to the hotel, use public transportation, which is free if taking Silver Line inbound, or take a taxi.

By Amtrak: Disembark at the Back Bay Amtrak Station (do not go all the way to the South Station) and walk 2 minutes down Dartmouth St to the Copley Square T station (make sure to cross Boylston St to get to the outbound track). Then:

- To get to the hotel from Copley, take Green Line C to the Saint Paul Street T stop.

- To get to the BC campus from Copley, take either Green Line D (fastest, 15 minutes) to the Reservoir T station, or Green Line C to the Cleveland Circle T stop, or Green Line B (slowest, 30 minutes) to the Boston College T station. Now follow the directions for the respective Green Lines below.

Public transport:

Google public transport directions from the hotel to Devlin Hall (these do not take into account the Boston College shuttle, and occasionally suggest to transfer from the C to the B line, which is nonsense). More precise directions are as follows:

(Green Line C) Take Green Line C from the Saint Paul Street T stop (the train stops right in front of the hotel) to the Cleveland Circle (10-12 minutes) and walk 1.2 miles (25 minutes) around a picturesque reservoir. Instead of walking, you can also take a free BC shuttle from the Reservoir T stop or the Chestnut Hill Ave stop (weekend schedule in pdf). During the week, shuttles run every 10-15 minutes. The weekend frequency is every 30 minutes in the morning, every 15 minutes in the afternoon, and every 10 minutes in the evening. The first shuttle departs Reservoir T station at 8am. The shuttle stops in front of the Conte Forum on the Lower Campus. Devlin and Higgins Halls are now a flight of stairs away. Real-time shuttle location (look for Comm Ave route).

(Green Line D) Another way of getting to the BC's math department (Carney Hall) and the conference venues (Devlin and Higgins Halls) is Green Line D. Get off at the Chestnut Hill T stop and walk for about 0.6 miles. The whole trip from the Holiday Inn Brookline should take about 35 minutes. Here are the precise directions. It is also possible to get off at the Reservoir T stop and take the BC shuttle to the campus (see the instructions for Green Line C above).

(Green Line B) Yet another alternative is to take Green Line B to the Boston College stop. Please note that Green Line B is slow.

Track above ground Green Line trains in real time.

From Harvard Square: Take MBTA Bus 86 from Harvard Square to the Reservoir T station and transfer to the BC shuttle (30-40 minutes).

Taxi: Carney Hall is 3.0 miles west from the Holiday Inn in Brookline. The cab fare from the hotel will cost about $12 without a tip.

Driving: Visitor's parking is available next to the conference venue at the Beacon Street Garage near the intersection of Beacon and Chestnut Hill Drive, Boston, MA 02135. Weekend parking costs $5.00 per exit from 5:00 p.m. Friday up to 2:00 a.m. Monday. On Friday, parking costs $3 per hour. The entrance to the Beacon Street Garage is just a few blocks headed west on Beacon Street from the Chestnut Hill Drive.

-The organizers will procure a number of parking passes to the Beacon Street Garage to be used by the participants. Please contact the organizers if you would like to obtain one.

-From September through May, all visitors should park in the Beacon Street Garage above level three, unless instructed otherwise.

There is also metered street parking along Beacon Street (3 hour limit, free after 6pm and on Sunday), which can be limited during Friday afternoon. Please be careful to park only in legal spots to avoid extremely high fines.
