Zero Waste Plan

Drawing inspiration from North Arizona University, the Siena Sustainability Scholars created a Zero Waste Plan for the fall 2019 semester.

This Zero Waste plan sets a guideline and goals that helps the college to work towards a zero waste campus. Through a series of 4 set objectives, the plan sets short term and long term goals for the campus, and proposes projects that students, organizations, faculty, and staff can adopt and implement.

The objectives are:

    1. Promote a culture of waste reduction on campus

    2. Reduce waste generated on campus

    3. Increase the reuse of all reusable materials on campus

    4. Increase recycling for all recyclable materials on campus

Each objective's section in the plan is structured by project feasibility and projected campus impact.

While approved by the Siena Sustainability Committee in 2020, this Zero Waste Plan is fluid and constantly changing. Any input is greatly appreciated!
