Organic Garden

The Sustainability Steering Committee along with the facilities department has built a raised-bed organic garden on campus as part of Siena's annual SIENAserves Community Service Day. This garden highlights sustainability on campus, as it utilizes our own campus (and eventually will use campus food waste in the form of compost) to produce fresh herbs for use in our dining halls. The garden is a great community project that promotes green-living and brings campus together.

As part of Earth Week and SIENAserves community service day 2021, the Habitat for Humanity club on campus volunteered and built 3 extra beds for more produce, and 2 benches for full enjoyment of the space. There is also now a composter on site.

In the winter of 2021, student Alan Koppchall created a cold frame to be able to grow produce throughout the winter.

There is now an official Siena Gardening Club. Get involved today!
