Storm-Water Management

Over the past few years, the facilities department has been able to decrease the overall quantity of storm water runoff, while increasing the quality of runoff produced, making it less toxic to the environment. The use of porous pavement in locations such as the Grotto and Plassman Hall helps to absorb rainwater rather than letting it runoff and collect road salts, fertilizers, oils and other chemicals before flowing into local waterways.

Storm-Water management is particularly important for Siena, as we have multiple recognized and regulated wetlands on campus!
