UPPER SCHOOL
2025-2026
2025-2026
Dear Upper School Families,
October is here and with that are many important academic and student life events. I thought it would be helpful to provide a run down for planning purposes.
Wednesday, October 15:
PSAT 8/9 and PSAT Administered at School (Grades 9-11):
Students have been assigned classrooms to take the all-digital exams. They should be in their assigned rooms by 8:30am. The tests should conclude by 11:30am for students with standard time and roughly 1pm for those students with College Board approved extra time. Students are welcome to stay for lunch, but are dismissed at the conclusion of their test. Please help us to remind students that their laptops must be fully charged and that they bring the charger cords with them on that day.
Seniors
The Senior class is to report to the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club by 10:30am. Lunch will be provided and they will be dismissed at 1pm. Shuffleboard competitions, food, and bonding with classmates, Advisors and Administration is the plan. This mandatory event has become a Shorecrest tradition and it is a lot of fun.

Friday: Class Color Day - Class competitions (no classes)
Saturday, October 25: Homecoming Dance in the Rec Gym, 8-10:30pm.
Students must arrive by 8:30pm and stay until 10pm
If your child wishes to bring a guest who is not a Shorecrest student, a guest permission slip must be submitted by the October 23 due date
In case you are thinking about it, your children want me to tell you that you are not invited :)
Families should have received a link to view photos directly from Mr. KamraMan, the yearbook photographer. Purchases may be made online.
Every once in a while photographs from Picture Day do not come out well, or students are absent on picture day. We will have picture retakes on Wednesday, October 29. A registration link for retakes will be sent later this week directly from Mr. KamraMan, and if your student was absent they will be registered to be photographed on retake day automatically.
This year a new policy has been introduced to better support transitions from an honors course to a college prep course. The deadline for these changes has been extended to October 15, allowing students additional time to adjust to the honors curriculum and determine whether it is the right fit. No schedule changes of this type will be permitted after October 15.
Have a wonderful week!

The Shorecrest Advantage: Exploring Shorecrest's Upper School

Dedicated programming for families of seventh and eighth grade students
In order to attend visits with college representatives, your student must sign-up in Cialfo at least 24 hours in advance. Simply log-in and look for the list of colleges that will be joining us this fall. Check back often as the list continues to grow each day! Meeting with the visiting college reps is a great way to learn more about each institution and show your demonstrated interest. Many colleges track attendance at programs such as school visits.
College Visits:
When a student visits a college/takes a college tour, they must complete a College Visit form prior to the day they will be absent. These are located in the Shorecrest Community Page under Forms. This digital form is quick and easy to complete.
As a reminder, Juniors are allowed three college visit absences, Seniors are allowed five.
If you or your child would like a copy of the 2025-2026 Crestviews Yearbook, which features the full Alpha-Grade 12 school, please place your online order using the link below. Yearbooks are $80. (Families of seniors do not need to order yearbooks. They are a part of the senior fee.)
Current and prospective families with toddlers through 4th graders are invited to experience the campus, classrooms, and hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math activities with their favorite Shorecrest teachers on a Saturday!
Attendees will also have the opportunity to chat with our Admissions team, meet Student Ambassadors and more in this family-friendly campus playdate. This is a great opportunity for current families to bring friends to experience Shorecrest!
Contact the Admissions Office for more information at admissions@shorecrest.org.
Join Greg Otis of HKS Advisory Services to offer your perspective as we embark on the search for the next Director of Diversity and Inclusion at Shorecrest. Any Shorecrest community member may attend the community engagement session on October 14, 6-7:30pm in the Ohana Community Room on the second floor of Charger Commons.
