The International Connection group (I.C.) strives to support Shorecrest as the independent school of choice in the Tampa Bay Area for families who seek diversity, inclusion and cultural enrichment within a globally-aware community. Based on a 2019 family survey, over 65 different countries are represented by Shorecrest families, faculty and staff – with more having joined at the start of the new school year. International Connection is open to all parents/guardians, grandparents, faculty and staff interested in international culture and cultural enrichment, including families who were born outside the US, who have spent time living abroad, who speak different languages at home, and/or have a general interest in this topic.
Watch for meetings and events throughout the year for networking and socialization. In addition, I.C. committees offer ample volunteering opportunities. One annual tradition is the school-wide International Festival.

Parent Ambassadors are often a family's first connection to the Shorecrest community, and play a key role in welcoming, answering questions, and overall easing the transition to a new school. Parent Ambassadors are in contact with new families throughout the summer and school year via phone, email, and get-togethers. They also help new parents get involved and connected around campus, and provide an authentic perspective of the academic programs, co-curricular opportunities, and enduring relationships among students and teachers.
