Dear Upper School Families,

Please note that while the rest of Shorecrest has a Conference Day on Wednesday, the Upper School will have classes as usual. By now you should have received your child’s goals and Advisor comments. Please know that you are always welcome to reach out to your child’s Advisor or teachers if you have questions or concerns. 

The Chronicle - New Issue

The Upper School student-run newspaper, The Chronicle, has released its third issue of the year. You can read it as a PDF or check out the content on the website here. The Chronicle has recently been honored with a Columbia Scholastic Press Association Crown award, ranking it among the best scholastic newspapers in the country. Give it a read and see what is happening on our campus and beyond.  

Lending Library

In honor of Black History Month, the history department has put together a lending library in Kayla’s room (LH-201) that features a variety of different titles. All books are black history-focused, ranging from notable autobiographies to popular culture to graphic novels.

• Schedule your first family college counseling meeting. Both the parent and student survey need to be completed prior to scheduling. If you have not completed the survey, reach out to your college counselor.

HBCU College Fair

SAT /ACT

The deadline to register for the March 14th SAT is February 27. Students need to register using their College Board account. 

On-Campus College Visits

A few colleges are visiting Shorecrest this spring. Students need to sign up in Cialfo at least 24 hours in advance and either have a free period or approval from their teacher.

Head of Upper School Search - Parent Sessions with Finalists 

Parents have the opportunity to meet with 3 finalists for the Head of Upper School position. The final meeting is:

• Wednesday, February 18 - 2:30pm in the Ohana Room on the second floor of Charger Commons. 

Names and resumes are sent the day prior to each candidate’s visit, so please keep an eye on your email. After each session, attendees will be emailed a survey to submit feedback on the finalists.
