The Disability and Dyslexia Support Service (DDSS) is working with the Student Mental Health, Counselling and Therapies Service to deliver ADHD Support Sessions for students at the University of Sheffield. The sessions will consist of a short presentation/talk about an ADHD related topic followed by peer support and discussion. There will be regular sessions planned around semesters and exam dates. You do not have to have a formal diagnosis to attend and can be at any level of your studies.
To book onto a session, please click on the 'ADHD Support Group Registration' below and then scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "ADHD Support Group Registration" (see image on the left). Please only book onto one session per block, (i.e. either the on-line session or in-person session) so as to ensure there are enough spaces for all.
31 Claremont Crescent - please enter via the blue door in the single story part of the building then turn immediately right. This will take you into reception where you can let the receptionist know that you are here for the ADHD Support Group.
Sessions run in blocks of two; one session online and one in-person. Each block will cover the same topic. In-person sessions will take place at the Student Mental Health Counselling and Therapies Service at 31 Claremont Crescent (See info below). Once you have registered, you will be emailed a calendar invite for the session, with a google meet link for the on-line sessions.
All sessions run between 12:15pm - 1.45pm (90 minutes).
Online sessions will take place on a Tuesday 12:15-1.45 pm
In-person sessions will take place on a Thursday 12.15-1.45 pm

We are dedicated to creating a safe and accessible environment for all participants in our sessions. We strive to accommodate individual needs as much as possible. For our on-line sessions, we encourage students to have their cameras on but if this isn't comfortable for you, it's fine to have it turned off. You can contribute, should you choose to, through the chat box or by raising your virtual hand. We also have a break in the workshops and encourage you to do what you need to in order to look after yourself.
For our in-person sessions, we are mindful of not having bright lighting, maintaining balanced room temperatures, and addressing other sensory considerations wherever we can. If you require a specific adjustment to attend a session, please let us know by emailing the address below with details of the adjustment needed and the session you plan to attend. We will make every effort to fulfil your request, so please contact us in advance to ensure we have enough time to prepare. Additionally, session facilitators will be available on the day to provide any further support you may need. Your comfort and accessibility are top priorities for us.

Please note: Our in-person sessions are usually very popular so if they are booked up, we advise booking onto the on-line session and then checking to see if a space becomes available in-person. We ask that if you have booked an in-person session that you can no longer make, please take the time to cancel your space so someone else can book on.
You can do this by emailing mentalhealthcounselling@sheffield.ac.uk.
Many thanks - ADHD Support Group Team.
