Year 11 Music
Aims
Ākonga learn how to work individually and collaboratively and to explore ways of creating, interpreting and representing ideas within music. Ākonga have opportunities to further their own creative potential as they sing, play instruments, read symbols and notations, record and analyse and appreciate music. As ākonga learn to communicate musically with increasing sophistication, they lay a foundation for lifelong enjoyment of and participation in music.
Course Content
Performance - prepare, rehearse, and present performances of music individually and collaboratively, on your chosen instrument or voice
Composition / Songwriting - create, structure, and represent a portfolio of original music, individually or collaboratively, in styles of your choice
Musical knowledge - learn a range of musical through aural, practical and theoretical skills and analyse music from a range of styles, and genres, in relation to historical, social, and cultural contexts
Music technology - build practical knowledge and skills on how to set up and operate a vatiety of music technologies related to recording and performance
