NCEA Level 3 Painting
Aims
To study, in depth, painting processes in a chosen area via the study of selected historical and contemporary established practice;
To develop skills so that the student can demonstrate understanding by making visual responses to her chosen subject and models.
Course Content
Students develop in-depth knowledge via guided and individualised study of relevant historical and contemporary painting art practice. Students investigate and use a range of conventions via analysis of selected artist models in the production of an individual a body of work submitted for examination. At the end of the year the student will have a body of work to use as a portfolio for application to a tertiary institution.
Assessment
Thematic project work: Internal and external examination.

Full course completion — 22-26 credits in NCEA Visual Arts Level 3
