A group of volunteer doctors and nurses provide services that remove tattoos from exposed portions of the body, giving individuals increased opportunities for a balanced life and increased self-esteem, as well as educational and employment opportunities. Although there is no financial cost for the service, participants must complete community service hours at the direction of the Tattoo Removal Program. PAL works in partnership with Redwood City Police Department, San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, San Mateo County Probation Department, and San Mateo County Sheriff’s Activities League (SAL).
