Want more job leads?
Consider contacting Jobs For Youth for support in successfully getting employment. Once you take one of their 1-hour workshops, you will get members only access to job leads and other support. If you need help, ask your case manager or transition specialist.
Adapted from their website: This program is designed to help youth increase their self-esteem and gain important job seeking skills. You will master the job application form, learn to communicate more effectively, gain interviewing skills, receive examples of resumes, cover letters, list of references, and thank you letters/emails to employers.
Support these employers!!!
October National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM)
October may be over, but you can always support businesses that support students with disabilities by doing the following:
If your parent owns a business, please make them aware of this and encourage them to put up poster or contact your transition specialist for ways to include individuals with disabilities in their workforce.
Please patronize the businesses or donate to the non-profit agencies that employ our students through the district's work Training program.
Try applying to the businesses below. You still need to complete an application and interview, but if you show that you are willing to work hard and do well, they may give you a chance (if they have a job opening).
