How long will I have this account?

You will have this account as long as you continue to take classes through SDCCD.

When you have gone for three consecutive terms without enrolling, you will lose access to the account.

When you sign up again, you will be assigned a new account.

What is Multifactor Authentication?

Multifactor authentication (MFA) is a security process that requires users to provide two or more forms of authentication to verify their identity

All accounts will be required to use an MFA.  In this case, you will choose from two options for your account:

Because most students will find the phone method easier to set up than the Microsoft Authenticator app, this tutorial will focus on the phone.

Want to learn more about MFA?  This site talks about it .  Make sure and view the video as it describes the process and why.

What is a web browser?

This tutorial instructs you to open a web browser.  A web browser is software on your device that connects you to the Internet.

You have a web browser built into your phone or your computer.  Some examples are  Edge (found on a Windows computer), Safari (found on a Mac), Google Chrome, Firefox, Brave and Opera.  Internet explorer is NOT recommended.

If one browser is not working for you, you might try another.

Watch for "Phishing"

Phishing is when someone tries to get access to personal information.  Note that Microsoft would NEVER send you an email asking you to update your account.  Just delete it if you receive a note like this.
