Work-related system innovation: A BizBox Innovation at St. Dominic Medical Center

Abstract

System innovation as a concept aligned to better management and operation, can be considered as a vital area for improvement in every corporation. It does not only cover improvements within the management and operations of a company, but also provides opportunities to better employee and workforce productivity. This research study aimed to identify and study the impact of using BizBox, a system used by St. Dominic Medical Center (SDMC), in terms of employees’ productivity. It also shared inputs in relation to the impact of the said system innovation to the management and operations of a company. Moreover, the study used a descriptive, quantitative research design. Data were analyzed through a “Forced Likert Scale,” an interpretation to gather specific responses from the participants of the study. In terms of the respondents, the study utilized Rank and File Employees as well as Officers of SDMC to gather credible data. The significant findings of this study were; through the use of BizBox, SDMC employees were able to finish tasks easily at a given period of time as well as additional workloads; whereas the management of SDMC, on the perspective of Rank and File employees and Officers, improved as well as its operations and services. The study also recommended that SDMC should focus on developing practices and better system innovation to keep up with the evolution of the global industry and to secure better competitive advantages.
