RESEARCHERS SERIES : From Scores to Stories: A Teacher’s Guide to Writing a Research Paper Using Diagnostic Test Data
Dr. Wendell L. Galapate, Director of the Research Innovation Development and Enterprise (RIDE) Center, conducted a specialized training workshop for Basic Education teachers titled "From Scores to Stories: A Teacher’s Guide to Writing a Research Paper Using Diagnostic Test Data." Held on August 07, 2025, at the Basic Education Department, Headed by Ms.Amery Amador, the workshop gathered educators across grade levels who are committed to enhancing student learning through reflective, data-informed practice. The initiative aimed to empower teachers to go beyond traditional assessment reporting by using diagnostic test results as a foundation for evidence-based educational research. By transforming student performance data into meaningful insights, teachers can develop targeted interventions and contribute to academic scholarship in basic education. Through a structured, hands-on session, Dr. Galapate walked the teachers through the process of analyzing diagnostic scores, identifying gaps in learning, formulating research problems, and crafting scholarly papers that reflect both classroom realities and data-driven solutions. The workshop also emphasized research ethics, proper documentation, and publication opportunities.
