Developing futuristic art involving the principles and elements of design with augmented reality

Abstract

The study aims to create a Digital Recreation of Van Gogh’s artworks with the integration of Augmented Reality Technology that students would learn and value the fundamentals in principle and element of design. The researcher used Quantitative Method in order to determine numerical data and percentages according to the relationship between the population of the SDCA Senior High School (SHS) Students and the effectivity of the creative output. The study revealed that many students have difficulties experienced by young artists in learning the basic fundamentals in art making due to the lack of consideration of learning style of the students, which got the highest percentage of 70% in the overall choice of responses thus, the creation of a Digital Recreation of Van Gogh’s artworks integration of Augmented Reality Technology, in order to provide learning which would suite multiple learning style. According to the respondents of this study, the aesthetic and quality of the output is rated as ‘Very Effective’ which based on the Likert’s Scale. Functionality and quality to the creative output also got the same remarks. It is therefore recommended by the researchers that creation of more diverse traditional artworks from renowned artists that would further show examples of principle and elements of design.
