Introduction

The Faculty/Staff Handbook is required to be reviewed by all Hopkinton School District Staff annually. The information in this handbook is consistent with the rules and regulations included in the student handbook and master agreements for teachers and support staff.

ALL STAFF MEMBERS ARE EXPECTED TO CONFIRM THEIR REVIEW AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE CONTENT OF THIS HANDBOOK ONLINE BY SEPTEMBER 23, 2021 OR WITHIN 15 DAYS OF INITIAL EMPLOYMENT WITH THE DISTRICT.

The handbook is designed to familiarize staff with the guidelines important to the meaningful governance and effective operations of Hopkinton schools. Particular attention must be given to the District Policies which relate to Federal regulations pertaining to the education of children, the procedures surrounding any form of discrimination within the District, staff responsibilities in reporting incidences affecting student and staff safety and guidelines for District employees’ use of District equipment and networking systems.

All staff has a professional responsibility to be aware of the procedures that are necessary to ensure an environment for students and staff conducive to learning. Thus, it is important for each staff member to carefully review this handbook. The review online, aside from saving the District substantial printing costs, provides staff easy access to the handbook and assures the Superintendent’s office that all district staff has read and understand the policies and procedures therein.
