HSD Committees

SCHOOL DISTRICT COMMITTEES

Participation in school district committees is one way to contribute to the direction of district. Many hands lighten the load is a guiding principle for committee participation. All District professional and support staff are encouraged to participate on committees.

Curriculum Council

1st Wednesday 3:15-4:15 p.m. MSS Conf. Room Matt Krogman and Bill Carozza

To oversee the development of a visible curriculum in the Hopkinton School District. The first meeting of the 2021-2021 school year is tentatively scheduled for September 1.

To develop an assessment system that accurately and efficiently inform families, teachers, and administrators about all major aspects of student learning.

To ensure the faculty and staff have the training necessary to meet the needs of all students.

Teacher Evaluation Plan (TEP) Committee

4th Monday 3:15-4:15 p.m. MSS Conference Room Chris Kelley, Amy Doyle, Kris Jacques

Established by Article VIII: 13 of the CBA between the Hopkinton School Board and the HEA. The committee reviews and revises the TEP governed by consensus. The committee membership, meeting time, and location will be determined in the fall.

Safety/Security and Joint Loss Management Committee

To review policies and procedures related to safety, security, crisis and joint loss management issues. In addition, this committee oversees safety drill completion and budget development.

Wellness Committee

To review wellness related school district policies, procedures, and practices. The committee will recommend improvements to the District Leadership Team and Hopkinton School Board.

Staff Meetings and Building Level Committees

Staff or Committee Meetings will take place on Tuesday whenever possible in accordance with the schedule below. Staff members are expected to attend building level faculty meetings as noted. Please refrain from scheduling personal appointments or extra curricular events on faculty meeting days. If you are unable to attend in part or in whole, please notify the facilitator of the meeting of the absence.

The effort and commitment of those staff members that give of their time to direct extra curricular activities are appreciated. The district strongly encourages all staff members to participate in the building or district committees. A listing of District Committee and Task Forces are noted in this section. Coaches and advisers are expected to be at the building and department meetings unless excused by their building administrator.

Harold Martin School

  • First Tuesday of the month – General staff meeting for teachers and IA’s

  • Second Tuesday of the month – Special Education Department meetings

  • Third Tuesday of the month – PLC meetings

  • Fourth Tuesday of the month – Building/district committee meetings

Maple Street School

  • First Tuesday of the month – General staff meeting for teachers and IAs

  • Second Tuesday of the month – Grade Level/Departments/Special Education Department Meeting

  • Third Tuesday of the month – PLC meetings

  • Fourth Tuesday of the month – District committee meetings

Hopkinton Middle and High Schools

  • First Tuesday of the month – general staff meeting for teachers and IA’s.

  • Second Tuesday of the month – department meetings

  • Third Tuesday of the month: PLCs

  • Fourth Tuesday of the month – building/district committee meetings
