Professional Learning
The Hopkinton School District Professional Development Handbook (available at the following link HSD PD Master Plan) contains the information and guidelines for all professional development activities. The appropriate forms are to be completed online at www.MyLearningPlan.com. If you have additional questions, please confer with an administrator.
Professional Development goals are required annually and are coordinated through your building/supervising administrator. For teaching staff, meetings should have taken place in the summer. For support staff, schedule a meeting with an administrator to review your Professional Development goals and evaluation schedule for the 2018 - 2019 school year.
The Professional Development Committee oversees the planning of learning opportunities for the entire district.

Afterschool Professional Development
College courses
Individual Professional Development
Book clubs
Forums
Release Time
All district staff meetings

REGISTRATION FOR WORKSHOPS OR COLLEGE COURSES
Workshops – All employees interested in participating in a workshop must:
1. Enter request in MyLearningPlan.com (MLP)
2. Wait for principal/superintendent approval of MLP
3. Submit registration form and travel voucher (with MapQuest mileage) to office manager
4. Wait for authorization to register (PO generated & P-Card uploaded, if applicable)
5. Employee registers for workshop
6. Copy of registration confirmation to office manager within 48 hours of registering
College courses – Requests should be made at least six weeks prior to enrollment, ensuring the District can make payment to the institution.
Teachers/Support Staff interested in participating in a college course must:
1. Complete a Tuition Agreement Form
2. Enter request in MyLearningPlan.com
3. Wait for principal/superintendent approval of MLP and Tuition Agreement Form
4. Submit registration form to office manager
5. Wait for authorization to register (PO generated & P-Card uploaded, if applicable)
6. Employee registers for college course
7. Submit final grade to SAU
Failure to follow these instructions may result in the employee being responsible for the workshop/college course cost.
Please refer to the HEA/HESS contract for additional instructions related to additional course reimbursement.
