Hi, my name is Roshni, I am a fourth trimester student at SAE Media Institute studying a Bachelor of Design and Visual Communication. I am a creative and passionate individual born in Kenya and I moved to Australia 6 years ago.
I dabbled in graphic design creating small souvenir products while running part of my family business in Kenya and thats when I realised I wanted to create memorable strategic brands for small businesses. I also worked with local textiles during this time and this experience introduced me to my love of colour and patterns.
Over the past couple of years I have been developing my skills in brand creation and placement, user experience, user interface and product packaging whilst improving on Adobe creative software skills and typography. In my spare time I create posters and work on event decoration for community events and also design wedding invitations.
For this brief, I was supposed to create an artwork that best captured and expressed who I am using a recent photograph of myself through creative digital manipulation. Once this was done we were to create a few pages for our Portfoliozine in the same style. I chose the paisley as my support motif and decided to create a montage design using foliage, photoshop manipulation and line drawings.

Inspired by the intricate work of Henna which incorporates the paisley (Image of Henna from my wedding day).

Drawing inspiration from Instagram Kenyan artist SAFARA who uses the collage style to highlight historical figures.
Understanding different types of line art/drawing and Zentangle concepts.
This Brief required us to research the Craft Beer packaging design movement and a leading practitioner then apply this knowledge to creating an original Craft Beer design for a fictional Western Australian brewery. We also had to highlight a particular WA landmark and conduct a marketing investigation into the beer industry.

This brief asked us to design an album record cover for my favourite recording artists using photographic images as a base ingredient.
I decided to feature a German DJ duo called JUNGE JUNGE whose Progressive House tracks I love listening to. Progressive House is a branch of Electronic Dance Music (EDM) which often features a built-up section, which can last up to four minutes and is usually followed by a breakdown and then a climax. The music tends to be progressive in nature, meaning it might start kind of tame and build up as the song moves forward
