Silhouettes

Artist Statement

These photos are my silhouette photos. They made by taking an image of something or someone with the light face the camera (behind the object). This is called backdrop lighting. If you do not have good lighting you can edit the photo to make the silhouette stronger and more present. I choose objects that I thought would made intriguing silhouette. Such as the light shinning through holes or gaps in the silhouette. I changed a lot of these photos by enhancing/decreasing exposer, contrast, shadows, colors, and the histogram. I also cropped images to make the composition more interesting to the eye. Looking the the wide picture of silhouettes it makes me think about how the object it blackedout. Almost as if the photographer didn't wan't people seeing the real meaning behind the image, they are trying to pull your attention to the object or way from the object. However they could have used color selection or one of the other technics available
