Artist Statement

Something all but one photo have in common is nature. I love capturing moments that can never be recreated. Nature is one of a kind. To take these photos I wielded a Nikon D50. I used all the competition rules in my work. However, the rules present here are: close distance, selective focus, high key lighting, formal balance, soft focus, informal balance, far distance, silhouette lighting, and rule of thirds to craft these images. A lot of these images were chosen to take because of my for the beauty of nature. A lot of these images were edited to the following extent: contrast, composer, grayscale/color scale, sharpness, and cropping. If I were going to do one or more of these projects again I would do the Inspired Project again. I feel the two photos I took were my weakest. I feel like this because I really wanted the river to look like a path leading away. With all the leaves over the ground there is no change in color to make that easily seen in the image.
