Repition

Artist statement:

For this assignment we were required to take repetition photos and create one regular print plus one altered print. I made a film roll and processed it, but the photos for some reason didn't show up although everything was processed correctly. I ended up re-taking my photos and took them around the classroom and the hallway so I wouldn't be behind. I had to be very creative and tried really hard to make strong and thought provoking images. My favorite photograph is the stools print that isn't altered. I like this one the best because of the light reflecting off of the stools metal legs. I think all of these images are strong because of the angles and compositions used. The abstract that is also my altered image, is very cool because you can see the stools but it almost just looks like little dots.

Overall, I think I did very well on this assignment for having to rush and being behind. The stool print is one of my favorite from this whole year because of the angle and the reflection of light off the legs. I also like how its a boring everyday item and turning it into a very unique and strong image. If I had to do this project over again I might have taken some pictures of repetition that is found in nature or the outdoors. I would do this because it would maybe have more texture and details in the final prints.
