Unique Lighting

Artist statement: For the unique lighting project I plugged in colorful Christmas lights and had my brother spin them in a circle. When he did that I captured a disk like shape. I had to turn down my shutter speed and the ISO all the way down to the lowest setting. I capture the photograph on the left when he was just untangling the light and getting ready to spin it in a circle. I chose colored lights so that it wasn't just a white circle. The colored lights added color and design almost.

Overall, I think this photograph took the most thought and creativity even though tons of people make these pictures. I think mine stands out because I used different lights to capture a unique picture. To make the background behind the lights I decreased the brightness and increased saturation to make the colors pop. If I had to do this project all over again I would maybe get even more lights in the frame so that the whole image is like blurred lights moving slow motion in a circle.

I like this photograph because it feels like it is in slow motion with the color blurs. I really like the picture on the left cause it was an accidental photograph but it is more unique and not so "perfect" and planned. I like it because it has more blurs of the lights than the other one. I like the second picture because of the perfect circle the lights make. The lights are so colorful and you eyes almost don't know where to look in this photograph, as in other photos there is almost always a main subject your eyes are directed to.
