Thoughtful Portrait

Artist statement: For my thoughtful portrait I wanted to express creativity and love. I accomplished this (In my opinion) by overlaying the photos and using two portraits of my brother. I wanted to do this to show two emotions and kind of make a abstract subject of my photograph. It is kind of hard to see the facial expressions which causes you to look at all of the details.

I like how in this photograph you can see him laughing and smiling and how the photograph is almost abstract but you can still she the trees and the subject. I put the photograph in black and white so that the colors weren't distracting because his sweatshirt was neon orange so I want the person looking at the photo to focus more on his facial expressions.

Overall, I really like my final product and liked how it turned out. It is very unique i feel and sort of has an abstract feel. If i could do this project again i could maybe add more than two photographs and maybe increase contrast so that the subject stands out more and is more bold feeling. I tried the return to send option with colored sticker labels but it didn't feel like a very strong photograph to me so I decided to think of another idea that was a little more complex and thought provoking.
