Independent Project

Artist Statement: This is my last project of the year. I made a zoomed in still life, and then added color and abstraction to the piece. I used pencil and markers for the original background and 4 corners, then I used color pencil and different shade pencils to make the shades of the graphite. I made the nosepiece of the glasses where different art techniques would be used, and I made the outside solid colors. I used shading, value, and perspective throughout this project. This project changed after I momentarily lost my creativity streak. After that, I had to try and come up with new ideas to fill white space. There isn't a specific meaning behind this project. It is interpretive on the viewer. If I were to make this piece stronger, I would make the colors more opaque and solid, less white streaks in my lines.
