Artist Statement: I based this art piece of of the De Stijl and Cubism art movements. The Cubism factor is because of the shapes being all 3 sided triangles. The De Stijl element is because of me only using primary colors when drawing the shapes. I used a yellow colored pencil to outline the shapes, and then I went back over the shapes with the final colors they were going to be, trying not to have two colors next to each other. I decided to combine the De Stijl and Cubism art movements because they both express the ideas and feelings that I use in my art. If I were to improve the piece, I would add people or characters to make it an actual picture of something.
