Animal Assemblage Sculpture

Artist Statement: For my assemblage sculpture, I made the Aulonocara steveni. A fish that is endangered and has a dying population here on earth. I made it by first using cardboard and making a base that the fish would eventually be. I then taped the entire surface of the fish so that the surface would be smooth later when I would be adding other things. Then I added cut up pieces of paper from an old folder and hot glued them to the fish, giving it color. I chose to make this because it is a very small fish and I wanted to give it a bigger, more appreciated look so people would pay attention. I had to improvise when I ran out of paper from the folder. I then had to use blue tape to finish the project. If I could make it better, I would add more to it so that it would stand out more.
